Expression data from LCM captured prostate cancer cells

(Submitter supplied) The prostate represents a complex mix of cell types and there is a need to analyze distinct cell populations to better understand their potential interactions. This study of cell-type specific gene expression patterns will contribute to understanding of how tumor epithelial cells may be affected by adjacent interstitial stromal cells within the tumor microenvirnonment. LCM and microarray analysis were used to identify gene expression patterns in prostate cancer epithelial and interstitial stromal cell populations. more...

Expression data from prostate cancer samples

(Submitter supplied) Although many genes have been proposed to be involved in prostate carcinogenesis, no single gene or gene profile has shown to have prognostic value. The main challenge for clinical management is to distinguish slowly growing tumors from those that will relapse. In this study, we compared expression profiles of 18 prostate samples (7 with Gleason 6, 8 with Gleason 7 and 3 with Gleason score equal or higher than 8) and 5 non-neoplastic prostate samples, using the GeneChip® Human Exon Array 1.0 ST of Affymetrix. more...

Gene expression profiling of prostate cancer

(Submitter supplied) To better understand the molecular mechanism that underlay tumorigenesis and progression of prostate cancer (PCa), we studied the gene expression profiles of sixteen PCa compared to their matched normal tissues. Using Significance Analysis of Microarrays, we identified 53 genes differentially expressed that were more than 2 fold up- or down-regulated in at least 50 % of the tumors. Random forest-based modelling to detect novel biomarkers for prostate cancer progression

(Submitter supplied) The clinical course of prostate cancer (PCa) is highly variable, demanding an individualized approach to therapy and robust prognostic markers for treatment decisions. We here present a random forest-based classification model to predict aggressive behaviour of PCa. DNA methylation changes between PCa cases with good or poor prognosis (discovery cohort with n=78) were used as input. The model was validated with data from two independent PCa cohorts from ICGC and TCGA. more...

Distinctive gene expression of prostatic stromal cells cultured from diseased versus normal tissues

(Submitter supplied) To obtain a comprehensive view of the transcriptional programs in prostatic stromal cells of different histological/pathological origin, we profiled 18 adult human stromal cell cultures from normal transition zone (TZ), normal peripheral zone (PZ), benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and prostate cancer (CA) using cDNA microarrays. Set of arrays organized by shared biological context, such as organism, tumors types, processes, etc. more...

Gene expression profile of Transgenic Adenocarcinoma of the Mouse Prostate (TRAMP)

(Submitter supplied) Gene expression profile of Transgenic Adenocarcinoma of the Mouse Prostate (TRAMP) reveals murine targets for preclinical development of human prostate cancer therapy In this study, we have generated an open source TRAMP microarray dataset to identify differentially expressed genes from human prostate cancer that have concordant expression in TRAMP tumors, and thereby represent lead targets for preclinical therapy development. more...

Prostate Cancer

(Submitter supplied) Prostate cancer, a leading cause of cancer death, displays a broad range of clinical behavior from relatively indolent to aggressive metastatic disease. To explore potential molecular variation underlying this clinical heterogeneity, we profiled gene expression in 62 primary prostate tumors, as well as 41 normal prostate specimens and nine lymph node metastases, using cDNA microarrays containing approximately 26,000 genes. more...

Gene expression profiling of gastric early-stage carcinoma and precancerous lesions

(Submitter supplied) To investigated the molecular distinction and functional correlation among different histopathological types of gastric neoplasia, the whole genome expression profiling of gastric early-stage carcinoma(EGC) and high-grade and low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia (HGIN and LGIN) were explored.
