Extraction protocol Tumor tissues were homogenized using TRIzol Reagent (Invitrogen, Life Technologies, USA), and purified with RNeasy mini columns (Qiagen, Netherlands). The quality of RNA was assessed using NanoDrop ND-1000 Spectrophotometer, version 3.7.1 (NanoDrop Technologies, Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc, USA).

Label protocol Total RNA was amplified and labeled using Low RNA Input Quick Amp Labeling Kit (Agilent Technologies, USA). The procedure was followed by the protocol for One-Color Microarray-Based Gene Expression Analysis, Low Input Qucik Amp Labeling, Version 6.5 (Agilent Technologies, USA).
 
Hybridization protocol RNA was hybridized to Agilent SurePrint G3 Human GE 8x60K Microarrays (G4851A) according to manufacturer's instructions.
Scan protocol Feature extraction was performed using Agilent Feature Extraction software.

Data processing Individual arrays were background-corrected with the RMA algorithm, log2 transformed, and subsequently quantile normalized.
