Mitochondrial complex I inhibitor rotenone effect on primary cortical neurons: time course

Analysis of cortical neurons treated with 10nM rotenone for 8, 15, and 24hrs. Rotenone is a classical, high affinity inhibitor of mitochondrial complex I. Results provide insight into temporal molecular events underlying rotenone-mediated cortical neuronal death.

Global gene profiling of rotenone-induced neuronal death

(Submitter supplied) Rotenone is a naturally occurring toxic substance from the Leguminosa plant and belongs to the group of compounds known as rotenoids (Bové et al., 2005). It is commercially used as a pesticide and is epidemiologically linked to PD. Being lipophilic, rotenone can diffuse across biological membranes in the body and gain entry to all the organs and cells (Bové et al., 2005). D-serine effect on the brain: dose response

Analysis of forebrains of animals treated with up to 500 mg/kg D-serine for 96 hours. D-serine is involved in many physiological processes through its interaction with the glycine binding site of the NMDA receptor. Results provide insight into the impact of D-serine exposure on neuronal functions.
