Expression data from primary term human decidual cells treated with interleukin-1-beta for 6 hours.

(Submitter supplied) Preterm birth is an important unsolved clinical problem. Despite advanced treatments, infants who survive prematurity remain at increased risk for permanent disabilities. In approximately one-third of cases, prematurity is related to infection and/or inflammation, which renders hostile the normally receptive intrauterine environment. Proinflammatory cytokines provoke up-regulation of genes that promote uterine contractions. more...

Expression data from human amnion mesenchymal cells treated with interleukin-1-beta for 1hr and 8hr

(Submitter supplied) Premature birth continues to be a challenging pregnancy complication, and a body of literature indicates that inflammation can contribute to premature delivery by converting a receptive uterine environment to a hostile one. Cytokines have been demonstrated to provoke up-regulation of inflammatory genes (e.g. interleukin-1, 6, and 8, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, cyclooxygenase-2, and microsomal prostaglandin E synthase-1). more...

microRNA profile in CD4+ T cell in healthy control and Primay biliary cholangitis (PBC) [miRNA]

(Submitter supplied) Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), formally known as primary biliary cirrhosis, is an autoimmune liver disease of unknown pathogenesis. Consequently, therapeutic targets for PBC have yet to be identified. As CD4+ T cells play a pivotal role in immunological dysfunction observed in PBC, we analyzed microRNA(miRNA) and mRNA expression in CD4+ T cells to investigate PBC pathogenesis and identify novel therapeutic targets.

Decidual stromal cell response to paracrine signals from the trophoblast

(Submitter supplied) During the invasive phase of implantation, trophoblasts and maternal decidual stromal cells secrete products that regulate trophoblast differentiation and migration into the maternal endometrium. Paracrine interactions between the extravillous trophoblast and the maternal decidua are important for successful embryonic implantation, including establishing the placental vasculature, anchoring the placenta to the uterine wall, and promoting immuno-acceptance of the fetal allograph. more...

microRNA expression in innate lymphoid cells from human decidua

(Submitter supplied) Innate lymphoid cells are a heterogeneous subset of lymphocytes deeply implicated in the innate immune responses to different pathogens, in lymphoid organogenesis and in the maintenance of tissue homeostasis. Group 3 innate lymphoid cells (ILC3) have been detected in human decidua, where they play a role in the early inflammatory phase favoring implantation and tissue remodeling as well as in the subsequent regulatory phase preventing fetal rejection and supporting neoangiogenesis. more...

Gene expression profiling of human decidual macrophages

(Submitter supplied) Uterine macrophages are thought to play an important regulatory role at the maternal-fetal interface. We report here a unique gene expression pattern intrinsic of first trimester decidual monocytes/macrophages, but not of their blood counterparts. The micro-array data comprises approximately 14,000 genes. Some of the key findings were confirmed by real time PCR or secreted protein measurements. A large number of regulated genes were found to be functionally related to immunomodulation and tissue remodelling, corroborating polarization patterns of differentiated macrophages of M2 phenotype. more...

The Involvement of mir-146 in Microglial Cells (EOC 13.31) During Prion Disease

(Submitter supplied) MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are evolutionary conserved, non-coding, gene regulatory RNA molecules found in both plants and animals and amongst almost every cell and tissue type. They are about 22 nucleotides long and are involved in silencing of mRNA through sequence specific binding to the 3’ untranslated region (UTR) of the mRNA subsequently causing translational repression and/or will promote the degradation of protein-coding mRNA. more...

Transcriptome anlaysis of gastrointestinal tract of pre-weaned cavles

(Submitter supplied) In order to test the development of gastrointestinal tract (GIT) in pre-weaned cavles, the GIT tissues were collected from day 0, day 7, day 21 and day 42 calves. RNA-seq was used to measure the transcriptome profiles. The RNA-seq analysis revealed the fast development of small intestine and rumen tissue during the first week after birth.

Fetal sepsis in utero induces disruption of gene networks involved in cardiac morphogenesis in a nonhuman primate model of infection-induced preterm labor

(Submitter supplied) Fetal lung and brain injury have been linked with intrauterine exposure to amniotic fluid (AF) cytokines, but injury to other fetal organs are not well characterized. Fetal cardiac injury was suspected based on an ultrasound study suggesting diastolic dysfunction, but not previously confirmed or characterized. In this study we explore the relationship between cytokine exposure due to exposure to group B streptococcus and cardiac gene expression.

Genome-wide profiling of the nascent transcription of non-coding RNAs in porcine heart after myocardial infarction

(Submitter supplied) Very little information is available about non-coding(nc)RNAs and their role in regulating tissue responses in myocardial ischemia and acute infarction. We measured for the first time nascent RNA transcription of protein coding genes, primary(pri)-miRNAs, long non-coding(lnc)RNAs and enhancer(e)RNAs in healthy myocardium, border zone to ischemia and infarction area in pig hearts using GRO-seq. The gene expression analysis indicated a gradient of induction of inflammatory mediators, and repression of PPAR-signaling and oxidative phosphorylation. more...

Genome-wide analysis of Prokineticin-1-regulated genes in human term myometrium

(Submitter supplied) Infiltration of human myometrium and cervix with leukocytes and formation of a pro-inflammatory environment within the uterus has been associated with the initiation of both term and preterm parturition. The mechanism regulating the onset of this pro-inflammatory cascade is not fully elucidated. We demonstrate that prokineticin 1 (PROK1) is up-regulated in human myometrium and placenta during labour. more...

Gene expression profiles of RAW264.7 macrophage cells treated with Paeony root-derived compounds

(Submitter supplied) Paeony root has long been used for its anti-inflammatory effects. In this study, the effects of albiflorin, paeoniflorin, and paeonol, compounds from paeony root, on gene expression profiles were examined in macrophages. The RAW264.7 macrophages were treated with LPS in the presence or absence of albiflorin, paeoniflorin, or paeonol. Global mRNA expression levels were detected by using an oligonucleotide microarray platform covering the mouse whole genome. more...
