Definition

A rare pneumoconiosis caused by exposure to asbestos particles. Symptoms may appear many years after exposure and include progressive dyspnea on exertion, dry cough, chest pain, tightness, inspiratory crackles, clubbing of the fingers. Later complications include mesothelioma and lung cancers. [from ORDO]
