Definition

A premalignant neoplastic and dysplastic lesion that arises from the ampulla of Vater. It is characterized by the absence of invasion. This category includes intestinal-type adenomas, noninvasive papillary neoplasms of pancreatobiliary type, and flat intraepithelial neoplasia. [from NCI]
