MCF-7 cells were incubated with or without Estradiol, E2-BSA or combinations of E2-BSA with ICI or G15 for 3 hours after preincubation for 4 hours with medium containing 10% charcoal stripped FBS.

The human breast cancer cell line MCF-7 was obtained from DSMZ (Braunschweig, Germany) and cultured in DMEM/F12 (1:1) supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum, at 37 °C, 5% CO2.
