Title Chilling stress drives organ specific transcriptional cascades and dampens diurnal oscillation in Tomato
Organism Solanum lycopersicum
Experiment type Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
Summary This study assayed the gene expression changes in response to chilling stress in the shoots and roots of tomato seedlings. Both a pretreatment and a concurrent ambient control were sampled to contrast gene expression.

Overall design Tomato seedlings were grown for 18 days in a hydroponic setup and split into two groups. One group remained at 24C while the other group was moved to 4C. Shoots and roots were sampled (3 replicates) from seedlings prior to start of treatment, from shoots at 30 minutes after treatment and from shoots and roots after 3 hours of treatment.
