AIDS-related lymphomas

Analysis of tumors from HIV+ male patients with AIDS-related lymphomas (ARL). HIV+ individuals have an increased risk of developing an aggressive B-cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma relative to HIV- persons. Results identify a signature for ARL subtypes and provide insight into pathogenetic events in ARL.

Molecular Classification of AIDS-Related Lymphomas [including third-party data]

(Submitter supplied) Gene expression profiling (GEP) of ARL patient samples was done to determine whether gene expression signatures derived from HIV- lymphomas retained their ability to molecularly classify HIV+ lymphomas. The GEP-based predictors robustly classified ARL tumors, distinguishing molecular Burkitt lymphoma (BL) and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), as well as activated B-cell-like (ABC) and germinal center B-cell-like (GCB) molecular subtypes of DLBCL. more...

Burkitt-like lymphoma with 11q aberration: A germinal center derived lymphoma without ID3-TCF3-CCND3 pathway deregulation [ONCOSCAN]

(Submitter supplied) Burkitt-like lymphoma with 11q aberration (BLL-11q) is a new provisional category in the 2016 WHO classification. The limited number of reported cases does not allow to define whether this is a specific entity or it is a particular variant of other recognized categories such as Burkitt or diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. The genetic alterations involved in the pathogenesis of BLL-11Q are not known.

A Biologic Definition of Burkitt's Lymphoma from Transcriptional and Genomic Profiling

(Submitter supplied) The distinction between the Burkitt lymphoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is imprecise using current diagnostic criteria. We applied transcriptional and genomic profiling to molecularly define Burkitt lymphoma. Gene expression profiling employing Affymetrix GeneChips (U133A) was performed in 220 mature aggressive B-cell lymphomas, including a core group of eight Burkitt lymphomas, which fulfilled all diagnostic criteria of the WHO classification. more...

Paired copy number analysis of DLBCL Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma [SNP 6.0 Array]

(Submitter supplied) Copy number analysis can be useful for assessing prognosis in diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL). We analyzed copy number data from tumor samples of 60 patients diagnosed with DLBCL de novo and their matched normal samples. We detected a total of 63 recurrent copy number alterations (CNAs), including 33 gains, 30 losses, and nine recurrent acquired copy number neutral loss of heterozygosity (CNN-LOH). more...

Affymetrix SNP array data for recurrent deletion in 19p in DLBCLs and BLs

(Submitter supplied) A single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP)-chip analysis of 98 cases of aggressive B-cell lymphomas revealed a recurrent deletion at 19p13 in 9 of the cases. Six further cases with deletions encompassing this region were found in array-comparative genomic hybridization data of 295 aggressive B-cell lymphomas from a previous study. Three cases even showed a homozygous deletion, suggesting a tumor suppressor gene in the deleted region. more...

HGU133A expression array data for diffuse large B cell lymphoma samples

(Submitter supplied) The pathogenesis of diffuse large B cell lymphomas (DLBCL) is only partly understood. We analyzed 148 DLBCL by high resolution single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP)-chips to characterize genomic imbalances. Seventy-nine cases were of the germinal center B-cell like (GCB) type of DLBCL, 49 of the activated B-cell like (ABC) subtype and 20 were type 3 DLBCL. Twenty-four regions of recurrent genomic gains and 38 regions of recurrent genomic losses were identified over the whole cohort, with a median of 25 imbalances per case for ABC-DLBCL and 19 per case for GCB-DLBCL. more...

CGH profiling of 87 indolent non-hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL)

(Submitter supplied) BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Low-grade B-cell lymphomas include several subtypes of tumors with different degrees of histological, biological or clinical features. Differential diagnosis is frequently compromised by the lack of specific cytogenetic or molecular features. As a consequence, therapies remain in many lymphoma types largely based in common protocols with largely variable success. Our objectives were to describe and to compare the genomic profile of a series of samples from the most prevalent low-grade lymphoma subtypes; all of them systematically analyzed with the same approach. more...

Enhanced DNA repair and genomic stability identify a novel HIV related Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma subtype [aCGH]

(Submitter supplied) Transcriptional and genomic profiling study of HIV positive and HIV negative Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL). Tumors were subtyped using the Lymph2Cx assay. Only GCB (germinal center like B-cell) subtypes were then subjected to digitial gene expression profiling and array comparative genomic hybridization (aCGH). The study used DNA extracted from FFPE DLBCL tumors derived from HIV(+) and HIV(-) patients to assess copy number variation differences between the HIV(+) and HIV(-) cohorts. more...
