Osteoblast differentiation (MG-U74C)

Analysis of FACS-sorted bone cells 7 and 17 days following induction of differentiation. Cells sorted based on GFP expression from a promoter that becomes active in the preosteoblastic stage between days 5 and 7 or from one that remains inactive until the osteoblastic stage between days 15 and 17.

Profiling FACS Sorted Calvarial Osteoblast Cultures: Day 7 (pOBCol3.6GFP) and Day 17 (pOBCol2.3GFP)

(Submitter supplied) This study compares a comprehensive microarray analysis of unsorted mCOB cultures at two level of cell differentiation with cells that are more homogeneous for a level of cellular differentiation. It demonstrates the loss of information and in some cases misinformation that occurs when a heterogeneous population of cells are used for a microarray study. Keywords: other

Bone microarray profiles from the Hybrid Mouse Diversity Panel

(Submitter supplied) Significant advances have been made in the discovery of genes affecting bone mineral density (BMD); however, our understanding of its genetic basis remains incomplete. In the current study, genome-wide association (GWA) and co-expression network analysis was used in the recently described Hybrid Mouse Diversity Panel (HMDP) to identify and functionally characterize novel BMD genes. In the HMDP, a GWA of total body, spinal and femoral BMD revealed four significant associations (-log10P > 5.39) affecting at least one BMD trait on chromosomes (Chrs.) 7, 11, 12 and 17. more...

Scl-Ab: Exploratory 26-Week Subcutaneous Toxicology Study in the Aged Ovariectomized Female Sprague Dawley Rat with an 18-week Recovery [vertebrae]

(Submitter supplied) This study is designed to compare and contrast the temporal and spatial changes in bone formation rates and transcriptional profiles in cortical and cancellous bone cell populations enriched by laser capture microdissection (LCM) in ovariectomized rats administered Scl-Ab by subcutaneous injection for up to 26 consecutive weeks, followed by a recovery period of up to 18 weeks.

Delineation of a conserved arrestin-biased signaling repertoire in vivo

(Submitter supplied) Biased G protein-coupled receptor agonists engender a restricted repertoire of downstream events from their cognate receptors, permitting them to produce mixed agonist-antagonist effects in vivo. While this opens the possibility of novel therapeutics, it complicates rational drug design, since the in vivo response to a biased agonist cannot be reliably predicted from its in vitro efficacy. We have employed novel informatic approaches to characterize the in vivo transcriptomic signature of the arrestin pathway-selective parathyroid hormone analog [D-Trp12, Tyr34]-bPTH(7-34) in six different murine tissues after chronic drug exposure. more...

Gene expression profiles of adult murine osteoblasts and cementoblasts

(Submitter supplied) Cementoblasts are cells that line the surface of the tooth root and produce a mineralized tissue known as cementum. Cementum is critical for attachment of the tooth to the adjacent periodontal ligament and has a similar biochemical composition to bone, however it differs in that it lacks vasculature and innervation, and does not undergo remodelling. It has been difficult to define markers that specifically identify cementoblasts. more...
