show Abstracthide AbstractAconitum forrestii is an essential traditional Chinese medicine, whereas the cp genomes of A. forrestii species have not been reported. In this study, we sequenced the complete chloroplast (cp) genome with Illumina sequencing technology. The assembled chloroplast genome was 155,869 bp in length and had a typical tetrad structure including a large single-copy (LSC), a small-single copy (SSC) as well as two inverted repeat regions (IRs). A total of 132 genes were annotated, including 85 protein-coding genes, 37 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), 8 ribosomal RNA genes (rRNAs), and two pseudogenes. The phylogenetic tree showed that Aconitum forrestii is closed with Aconitum episcopale and Aconitum delavayi.
