MbeD/MobD family mobilization/exclusion protein
The MbeD and MobD proteins are plasmid encoded, and are involved in the plasmids mobilisation and transfer in the presence of conjugative plasmids [1]. [1]. 2671664. Characterization of the ColE1 mobilization region and its. protein products.. Boyd AC, Archer JA, Sherratt DJ;. Mol Gen Genet 1989;217:488-498. (from Pfam)
MbeD family mobilization/exclusion protein
MbeD, as found in the ColE1 plasmid, was originally described as a plasmid mobilization protein. Later, it was shown that MbeD additionally was responsible for a plasmid entry exclusion phenotype that had previously been ascribed to products of the exc1 and exc2 genes.
