The expression of interleukin-8 in the high- and low-glucose groups. (a) The differential expression of interleukin-8 between the high- and low-glucose groups. The supernatant of low- and high-glucose groups was extracted from cocultured HaCaT cells and Candida albicans at the five time points of 0, 1, 4, 6, and 12 h, and the change in interleukin-8 was detected by an interleukin-8 enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit and is shown in pg/ml. The amount of interleukin-8 in the low-glucose group was higher than that in the high-glucose group at different time periods (P<0.05). (b) The expression of interleukin-8 in the high- and low-glucose groups. The amount of interleukin-8 increased steadily but significantly from 0 h to 6 h both in the low- and high-glucose groups. From 6 h to 12 h, the expression of interleukin-8 decreased significantly in the two groups (P<0.05)
