Pharmacologic Substance
A short-acting, first-generation sulfonylurea with hypoglycemic activity. Compared to second-generation sulfonylureas, tolbutamide is more likely to cause adverse effects, such as jaundice. This agent is rapidly metabolized by CYPC29. [from NCI]
