Definition

A paraganglioma that metastasizes to regional or distant anatomic sites. Extraadrenal paragangliomas have a higher tendency to metastasize, as compared to pheochromocytomas. Common sites of metastasis include the lymph nodes, lungs, bones, and liver. [from NCI]
