Treatment protocol Baboons were fed normal monkey chow diet ad libitum and had free access to water. They were provided with veterinary care throughout their lives.
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol Total RNA was extracted from frozen brain tissues using the Direct-zol RNA MiniPrep Plus kits.
Stranded RNA-Seq libraries were constructed from total RNA using the KAPA RNA HyperPrep Kit with RiboErase according to the manufacturer's protocol.

Data processing Raw sequencing data were de-multiplexed using Illumina bcl2fastq.
Prealignment QC was performed, and sequence reads with Phred scores < Q30 were discarded.
Sequence reads were aligned against the olive baboon reference genome (Panu_3.0) using STAR 2.5.3.a.
Aligned reads were quantified using an expectation-maximization algorithm in Partek Flow and annotated using NCBI annotation (release 93).
Transcript counts were normalized by the Trimmed mean of M-values method prior to performing WGCNA.
