Treatment protocol |
Leaves were cut into pieces with 1 cm width and then soaked in the water containing 0.033% EtOH as ccontrol, or 10 µ DEX solution for 24 hours. EtOH was a solvent for DEX stock solution.

Growth protocol |
Poplar transgenic plants were grown aseptically on medium containing Murashige and Skoog (MS) salt mixture under SD (8 hours light/16 hours dark) conditions at 23°C.

Extraction protocol |
Extraction of total RNA was performed by Plant RNA Isolation Reagent (Invitrogen), and then total RNA was purified by RNeasy Mini Kit (QIAGEN), according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Biotinylated cRNA were prepared according to the standard Affymetrix protocol from 10 ug total RNA.

Hybridization protocol |
Following fragmentation, 15 ug of cRNA were hybridized for 16 hr at 45C on GeneChip. GeneChips were washed and stained in the Affymetrix Fluidics Station 450.

Scan protocol |
GeneChips were scanned using the Affymetrix GeneChip Scanner 3000.

Data processing |
