Growth protocol For aerial hyphae formation cells were grown for 48h at 22 °C on nitrate minimal medium (NM+) (Holliday, 1974) containing 2 % agar (w/v), 1 % charcoal (w/v), 20 mg l-1 histidine, 380 mg l-1 leucine, 20 mg l-1 tryptophan, 50 mg l-1 uracil and 76 mg l-1 Yeast Synthetic Drop-out Medium Supplements (Sigma, Y2001). This was performed for three independently conducted replicates
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol RNA samples were frozen in liquid nitrogen for three independently conducted replicates.
Total RNA was extracted using TRIZOL (Invitrogen) according to the manufacturers instructions. RNA samples were column purified (Qiagen RNeasy) and the quality checked using a Bioanalyzer with a RNA 6000 Nano LabChip kit (Agilent Technologies).
Label Biotin
Label protocol Target preparation was performed according to the standard Affymetrix protocol using the Enzo BioArray RNA transcript labeling kit.
 
Hybridization protocol Affimetrix EukGE-WS2 on a GeneChip Fluidics Station 400
Scan protocol Arrays were scanned twice using a GeneArray Scanner (Agilent/Affymetrix).
Description Monitor the effects of the deletion of the repellent gene rep1 on expression profiles in SG200.
