Transgenic mouse heart, expressing the G alpha q protein under the conditional control of the myosin-alpha-heavy chain promoter using the tetracycline transactivator (tTA) system. Cardiac ventrical was harvested from FVBN mice withdrawn from a doxycycline chow diet for 8-weeks (developing a mild hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) and then recovered for 4-weeks by re-administration of doxycyline. Mice were raised (fetal through adulthood) on doxycycline.
