Growth protocol Whole blood samples were collected from the subjects, followed by red blood cell (RBC) lysis with RBC lysis buffer to enrich total white blood cells (WBCs).
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol We used mirVanaTM miRNA Isolation Kit (Ambion, CA, USA) to extract RNA following the manufacturer’s protocols. The concentration of RNA was measured with NanoDrop 2000 spectrophotometer (Thermo scientific, MA, USA). All RNA samples passed the criterion of RIN≥ 7 assessed with Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer (Agilent, CA, USA).
Label biotin
Label protocol Single-stranded cDNA was generated from the amplified cRNA with the WT PLUS Kit (Affymetrix) and then fragmented and labeled with the WT Terminal Labeling Kit (Affymetrix).
 
Hybridization protocol Samples were hybridized with GeneChip Human Transcriptome 2.0 ST Arrays (Affymetrix) and scanned with the GeneChip Scanner 3000 7G in Genomics and Proteomics Core lab., Kaohsiung Chang Gung memorial Hospital, Taiwan.
Scan protocol Array scanning was performed according to the manufacturer's instruction (Affymetrix)

Data processing The raw data of HTA 2.0 chips were first subject to quality control examination as suggested by Affymetrix manuals. And, the chips passing the quality control criteria were then analyzed with Partek.
