Extraction protocol RNA was isolated from brain tissue by disruption in Trizol reagent (Invitrogen) and was further purified using RNeasy columns (Qiagen) according to the manufacturer’s instructions. A quantity of 10 µg of total RNA was used as a template for oligo dT primed reverse transcription which incorporated amino allyl -dUTP (Sigma) into the cDNA. The remaining RNA template was hydrolyzed and the cDNA product purified using the QIAquick PCR purification system (Qiagen).
