Treatment protocol |
Chickens from the infection group were inoculated with 0.1 mL of 103 EID50 IBDV CJ801 stock through eye-nose drops. The chickens from the mock group were kept in a separate isolator and mock challenged with PBS.

Total RNA was separately extracted from each bursa using RNAiso Plus Total RNA extraction reagent (TAKARA, China) following the manufacturer's instructions and checked for RNA integrity number (RIN) to inspect RNA integrity by an Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer. RNA libraries were prepared for sequencing using standard Illumina protocols.

Data processing |
The raw reads were cleaned by a short-reads pre-processing tool (FASTX-Toolkit, version 0.0.13). Sequenced reads were trimmed for adaptor sequence, and masked for low-complexity or low-quality sequence, then mapped to galGal4 whole genome using TopHat2 (version: 2.0.9). Genome_build: galGal4 (Gallus_gallus-4.0) Supplementary_files_format_and_content: All_sample_gene_expression_information.txt: Tab-delimited text file includes FPKM values for each Sample.
