Standardized RT (StaRT)-PCR (TM) is a quantitative competitive template PCR platform that provides numerical quantification of transcript abundance values at endpoint of PCR over the full range observed in human tissues (more than six orders of magnitude). Following reverse transcription, cDNA molecules representing each gene are measured in relation to a known number of its respective internal standard cDNA molecules.
