Total RNAs were isolated from 1 day-opening flowers of the inbred line Yellow Wonder 5AF7 grown in growth chambers (Hollender et al., 2012) using RNeasy Plant Mini Kit (Qiagen, Valencia, CA). Small RNAs were enriched by precipitating the supernatant passing through Qiashedder spin column. The recovered small RNA samples were used for library construction and deep sequencing in Genomics Resources Core Facility at Weill Cornell Medical College (New York, NY).
