Title |
The role of ASAH1 in Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) growth and progression |
Organism |
Homo sapiens |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
N-acylsphingosine amidohydrolase (ASAH1) expression is elevated in many cancer types including breast cancer. Therefore, we analyzed the role of ASAH1 in TNBC. Inhibition of ASAH1 expression in TNBC cell lines resulted in decreased tumor growth and metastasis

Overall design |
MDA-MB-231 cell expressing either non-specific (NS) shRNA or two independent ASAH1 shRNA (ASAH1 #1 and ASAH1 # 2) were used to prepare the total RNA, followed by RiboRNA depletion with random priming and RNASeq Illumina Hi-Seq 2500 platform, with three biological replicates for each sample.
