A cocktail of five bioinformatically and experimentally prioritized recombinant proteins was used immunize pigs and test for active antibody responses.
Overall design
This antibody-protein array of putative immunogenic proteins was developed using bioinformatic, experimental, and literature-based parasite protein targets. Screening the array with sera and ileal fluid samples from immunized pigs suggested cross-reactivity among homologous proteins and general immunity activation. Overall immune responses were significantly altered by immunization, but not by direct worm challenge.
