Title |
Brain transcriptome of mice infected with T. gondii parasites |
Organisms |
Toxoplasma gondii; Mus musculus |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
Mice were infected with up to 250,000 tachyzoites of T. gondii VEG strain parasites genetically engineered to be deficient in either the ROCY1 gene (TGVEG_311100) or the BFD1 gene (TGVEG_200385). Mice were infected intraperitoneally and monitored using in vivo bioluminescence imaging. Mice were sacrificed at either 4 weeks or 9 weeks post infection as indicated, and RNA was isolated from their brains and transcript abundance was determined using RNAseq.

Overall design |
4-6 biological replicates for the 4 week samples and only 1-2 replicates for the 9 weeks samples.
