Title |
Effects of propranolol exposure to Pimephales promelas (fathead minnow) larva across age and duration |
Organism |
Pimephales promelas |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
Given that larval fish stages provide opportunities for development of stressor-selective screening level tests, this work aimed to investigate the optimal age of fathead minnow larva and duration of exposure for the pharmaceutical, propranolol, found in the environment. Differentially expressed genes were studied as well as gene set enrichment analysis.

Overall design |
mRNA reads from fathead minnow (FHM) larvae (4 days; 5 days; 6 days post fertilization) were exposed for 6, 24, and 48 h to two concentrations of propranolol (0.66 and 3.3 mg/l). RNASeq reads were mapped against 47K known FHM mRNA transcripts
