Title Aortic gene expression after acute kidney injury
Organism Mus musculus
Experiment type Expression profiling by array
Summary The risk of cardiovascular events rises after acute kidney injury. Leukocytes promote atherosclerotic plaque growth and instability. We here established a model of enhanced remote atherosclerosis after renal ischemia reperfusion injury and investigated the underlying inflammatory mechanisms.

Overall design Male LDLr-/- mice were subjected to unilateral ischemia reperfusion (IR) or control (ctrl.) surgery followed by a high fat diet for three or ten weeks.
