Transgenic mice overexpressing the LH receptor in the female reproductive system spontaneously develop endometrial tumour masses |

Experiment type |
Expression profiling by array

Summary |
We developed transgenic mice which overexpress the human LH-R transcript in the female reproductive tract, under the control of the oviduct-specific glycoprotein mouse promoter (mogp-1). The uteri of young TG mice showed signs of increased proliferation and trans-differentiation in the endometrial layer. A transcriptomic analysis, further confirmed by immunohistochemistry, showed that up regulated genes are mainly involved in cell cycle control, while down regulated genes are related to the immune system and the metabolism of xenobiotics. Aged TG females developed tumor masses resembling an EC:
