Title |
Whole genome bisulfite sequencing from primate brains (orthologous region to human BA46) |
Organisms |
Macaca mulatta; Pan troglodytes |
Experiment type |
Methylation profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
We carried out cell-type specific whole genome bisulfite sequencing from primate brains (orthologous region to human BA46) that underwent fluorescence-activated nuclei sorting (FANS).

Overall design |
We compared the cell-type specific methylome profiling of sorted nuclei from humans to non-human primates. We analyzed genome-wide DNA methylation levels in adult human Brodmann area 46 (BA46, 27 individuals, GSE108066), and the homologous regions of chimpanzee (11 individuals), and rhesus macaque (15 individuals). Cell-type specific methylome data was obtained using fluorescence-activated nuclei sorting (FANS) with antibodies to either NeuN or OLIG2 to isolate neurons (NeuN) or oligodendrocytes (OLIG2) and their precursors, respectively.
