Title |
Chloroplast redox status modulates genome-wide plant responses during drought |
Organism |
Solanum tuberosum |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by array
|
Summary |
Down-regulation of reactive oxygen species build-up in chloroplasts by expression of a plastid-targeted flavodoxin protects potato leaves under drought conditions. To better understand these effects we compared the transcriptomic alterations in a pre-symtomatic stage of drought treatment on leaves of Fld-expressing potato plants and their wild-type siblings.

Overall design |
Gene expression in potato leaves was measured 3 days after water withdrawal under growth chamber conditions. Control conditions corresponds to continued watering. The analysed potato line was transgenic Stpfld252, which expresses flavodoxin in their chloroplasts, and their wild type siblings (S. tuberosum cv Solara). Two pooled biological replicates were used for each treatment and line.
