Title |
Whole genome bisulfite sequencing of human spermatozoa reveals differentially methylated patterns from type 2 diabetic patients |
Organism |
Homo sapiens |
Experiment type |
Methylation profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
We investigated the genome-wide DNA methylation profiles in sperm by comparing 8 individuals with T2DM and 9 non-diabetic controls using whole genome bisulfite sequencing (WGBS) method. Our study provides the first evidence that T2DM reprograms sperm DNA methylome and provides new insights into the intricate mechanisms of susceptibility to T2DM in offspring.

Overall design |
Whole genome bisulfite sequencing (WGBS) genomic DNA was isolated from control and T2DM samples. One replicate was done for each sample.
