Title |
A small molecule promotes cartilage extracellular matrix generation and inhibits osteoarthritis development |
Organism |
Rattus norvegicus |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
These observations identify SOD3 as a relevant drug target, and BNTA as a potential therapeutic agent in osteoarthritis.

Overall design |
Examination a disease-modifying OA drugs and its molecular target. Case: Cartilage tissues were collected from medial and lateral femoral condyles of anterior cruciate ligament transection-operated rat knee joints treated with BNTA (1.5 mg kg-1) twice a week for 4 w. Control: Cartilage tissues were collected from medial and lateral femoral condyles of anterior cruciate ligament transection-operated rat knee joints treated with normal saline (vehicle) twice a week for 4 w.
