Title Gene expression profiling of myofibroblasts in young and aged day 5 wound beds

Summary Mesenchymal cells were isolated from day 5 dorsal skin wound beds of 7-weeks old and >24-months old using FACS. This experiment describes multiple unique subsets of wound bed myofibrolbasts capable of contributing to tissue repair.
 
Overall design Myofibroblast subsets were isolated by FACS. Cells were sorted based on CD34 and CD29 expression, where APs are CD34+ and CD29+; CD29 cells have high levels of CD29; and DN is CD34- and CD29 Low.
