HIV-1 infection effect on macrophages in vitro: time course

Analysis of cultured macrophages for up to 7 days after HIV-1 infection. Macrophages are targets of HIV-1 infection and constitute a viral reservoir that facilitates the spread of HIV-1 to other cells. Results provide insight into the signaling networks affected by HIV-1 infection in macrophages.

HIV-1 Activates Macrophages Independent of Toll-like Receptors

(Submitter supplied) Macrophages provide an interface between innate and adaptive immunity and are important long-lived reservoirs for Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type-1 (HIV-1). Multiple genetic networks involved in regulating signal transduction cascades and immune responses in macrophages are coordinately modulated by HIV-1 infection. To evaluate complex interrelated processes and to assemble an integrated view of activated signaling networks, a systems biology strategy was applied to genomic and proteomic responses by primary human macrophages over the course of HIV-1 infection. more...

MDP- and Pam3CSK4-induced genes in naïve and tolerant macrophages

(Submitter supplied) Most of the genes were self-tolerized by Pam3CSK4 and MDP but there was no or minimal cross-tolerization. The transcriptome induced via Nod2 stimulation is greatly expanded in TLR2-tolerant macrophages. Keywords: self and cross tolerance by MDP or Pam3CSK4

RAW264.7 cells were treated with KDO, IFN beta and 8Br

(Submitter supplied) RAW 264.7 cells were stimulated with KDO (100 ng/ml), IFN-β (300 pM) and/or 8-Br 100 μM. These ligands were applied individually or in combination with KDO for 60 min and 120 min. Total RNA was extracted using TriPure (Roche) following its protocol. Keywords: designed

Timecourse of interferon-beta stimulation of mouse bone marrow derived macrophages

(Submitter supplied) Transcriptomic analysis of the temporal changes induced in mouse bone marrow derived macrophages (BMDMs) by the cytokine Interferon-beta over a timecourse of 0 to 24 hours of treatment. We set out to study the transcriptional events in mouse macrophages over time following stimulation with Interferon-beta. Mouse bone marrow derived macrophages were stimulated for 1, 2, 4, 8 and 24 hours with 10U/mL mouse interferon-beta or left untreated.
