Limb bud zone of polarizing activity

Analysis of zone of polarizing activity (ZPA) from limb buds of E10.5 embryos. The ZPA is a signaling center that is necessary for the normal anteroposterior patterning of the vertebrate limb. Results identify genes, beyond Sonic hedgehog (shh), expressed in the ZPA compared to the rest of the limb.

Identification of genes controlled by LMX1B in the developing mouse hindlimb bud

(Submitter supplied) A control vs. genetic knockout experiment aimed at determining what RNAs are upregulated or downregulated in e11.5 mouse proximal limb tissue lacking the Lmx1b gene. Because Lmx1b is required for dorsal-ventral patterning of the limb, this screen gives insight into what putative downstream targets of Lmx1b contribute to dorsal-ventral patterning. Lmx1b knockout effect on embryonic proximal hindlimb buds

Analysis of embryonic (e11.5) proximal hindlimb bud tissues deficient for transcription factor Lmx1b. In the developing limb, dorsal-ventral patterning is controlled by LMX1B, expressed in the dorsal mesenchyme. Results provide insight into the Lmx1b-dependent genes in the developing limb bud.

Complete embryonic E11.5 metanephric kidney analysis of wild type and Hoxa11, Hoxd11 null targeted mice

(Submitter supplied) E11.5 metanephric mesenchyme and ureteric bud were dissected from the E11.5 kidney rudiment using fine manual microdissection (ureteric bud only) or both fine manual microdissection and laser capture microdissection (metanephric mesenchyme) to define the gene expression profiles of these structures. Additionally, HoxA11, HoxD11 compound null E11.5 metanephric mesenchyme was obtained through laser capture microdissection allowing analysis of possible Hox targets in kidney development. more...

Complete embryonic metanephric kidney analysis of wild type and Hoxa11, Hoxd11 null targeted mice

(Submitter supplied) Complete (whole) embryonic kidneys were dissected from wild type and Hoxa11, Hoxd11 compound null embryons throughout development. Targets from two biological replicates of each were generated and the expression profiles were determined using Affymetrix MOE430A and MOE430B arrays. Comparisons between normal and mutant and comparisons of development samples identified global patterns of gene regulation in kidney development Keywords: embryonic metanephric kidney, kidney development, Hoxa11, Hoxd11, compound null targeted mice

Hoxa11/Hoxd11 null mutation effect on the metanephric mesenchyme

Analysis of metanephric mesenchyme (MM) dissected from the rudimentary kidney of embryonic day E11.5 Hoxa11 Hoxd11 null mutants and wild types. Gene expression in wild type ureteric bud (UB) examined. Hox11 genes are expressed in the early MM and are required for the induction of UB formation.
