Insectide chlorpyrifos effect on the brain: dose response

Analysis of brain frontal lobes of animals treated with chlorpyrifos (CPF) at doses up to 30 mg/kg. Subtoxic exposure to CPF, an organophosphorus insecticide, has long-term adverse effects on brain development. Results provide insight into the molecular mechanisms underlying these effects.

Expression data from brain tissue of Rattus norvegicus treated with chlorpyrifos (CPF)

(Submitter supplied) Chlorpyrifos is an organophosphorus insecticide that despite imposed restricitions on its use by the EPA, is one of the most commonly used insecticides. Although CPF is so widely used little is known about its effect on overall gene expression in vivo. DNA microarray technology was used to determine differential gene expression resulting from chlorpyrifos (CPF) exposure. Keywords: Dose course

Expression data from brain tissue of Rattus norvegicus treated with D-Serine

(Submitter supplied) d-serine is naturally present throughout the human body. It is also used as add-on therapy for treatment-refractory schizophrenia. d-Serine interacts with the strychnine-insensitive glycine binding site of NMDA receptor, and this interaction could lead to potentially toxic activity (i.e., excitotoxicity) in brain tissue. The transcriptomic changes that occur in the brain after d-serine exposure have not been fully explored. more...

D-serine effect on the brain: dose response

Analysis of forebrains of animals treated with up to 500 mg/kg D-serine for 96 hours. D-serine is involved in many physiological processes through its interaction with the glycine binding site of the NMDA receptor. Results provide insight into the impact of D-serine exposure on neuronal functions.

Next Generation Sequencing Analysis of Prenatal Chlorpyrifos Exposure embryonic kidneys

(Submitter supplied) Purpose: In order to study signaling pathway changes of prenatal chlorpyrifos exposure embryonic kidney development Methods: By using RNA-seq, we studied the transcriptome of E12.5, E14.5, E16.5 and E18.5 prenatal chlorpyrifos exposure embryonic kidneys and DMSO exposure (control) embryonic kidneys Results: We show that Notch signaling pathway and aquaporin family had high expression in chlorpyrifos exposure E18.5 kidney. more...
