Effects of age on the skeletal muscle transcriptome

Analysis of vastus lateralis muscle biopsy samples from young (about 25 years old) and old (about 78 years old) adults. Subjects had not taken part in formal exercise. Results provide insight into the effect of age on basal gene expression in the skeletal muscle.
