This proof-of-concept study was performed to investigate if an approach combining mechanism-specific bioassays with microarray techniques can obtain more in-depth insights into the ecotoxicity of complex pollutant mixtures as present, e.g., in sediment extracts. (Submitter supplied) The oligos were spotted onto the chip in 4 by 12 blocks where each block is printed by one single pin. A block itself is divided into a subgrid of 27 x 27 spots and each sequence of 16 spots contains oligos from a different library plate. The spots are arranged densely on the array.
