Description

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy 115

For discussion of the c.236C-T transition (c.236C-T, NM_007241.4) in the SNF8 gene, resulting in a pro79-to-leu (P79L) substitution, that was identified in compound heterozygous state in a patient (patient B1) with developmental and epileptic encephalopathy-115 (DEE115; 620783) by Brugger et al. (2024), see 610904.0001.

Neurodevelopmental Disorder Plus Optic Atrophy

In a patient (Patient F1) with neurodevelopmental disorder plus optic atrophy (NEDOA; 620784), Brugger et al. (2024) identified compound heterozygosity for 2 mutations in the SNF8 gene, P79L and a c.304G-A transition, resulting in a val102-to-ile (V102I; 610904.0005) substitution. The mutations were identified by trio whole-exome sequencing. The V102I mutation was present in the gnomAD database (v4.0.0) at an allele frequency of 0.0001691, with 1 homozygote reported.
