Description

This sequence change replaces methionine, which is neutral and non-polar, with valine, which is neutral and non-polar, at codon 89 of the NR2E3 protein (p.Met89Val). This variant is present in population databases (rs746366181, gnomAD 0.03%). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with NR2E3-related conditions. Algorithms developed to predict the effect of sequence changes on RNA splicing suggest that this variant may create or strengthen a splice site. In summary, the available evidence is currently insufficient to determine the role of this variant in disease. Therefore, it has been classified as a Variant of Uncertain Significance.
