Description

Identified in an 11 year-old patient with encephalopathy, seizures, posterior stroke and stroke-like episodes, migraines, muscle weakness, and hepatic failure; however, a second POLG variant was not identified and results of parental testing were not provided (Tang et al., 2011); Not observed at significant frequency in large population cohorts (gnomAD); In silico analysis supports that this missense variant does not alter protein structure/function; This variant is associated with the following publications: (PMID: 21880868)
