Selection criteria for the systematic review

PopulationWomen of reproductive age living with HIV
InterventionUse of a hormonal contraceptive method (injectables, oral contraceptives, implants, patches, rings or LNG-IUDs)
ComparatorNon-use of hormonal contraceptive methods (i.e. either use of no method or use of a non-hormonal method such as condoms or other barrier methods, withdrawal, copper-bearing IUDs, tubal ligation/vasectomy, etc.)
OutcomesRisk of HIV disease progression (as indicated by HIV viral load, CD4 count, progression to AIDS, ART initiation, death, or a composite outcome of progression to AIDS, ART initiation or death).
