Study: Transcriptional analysis of P. gingivalis and A. baumannii

We examine the transcriptome of both P. gingivalis and A. baumannii in monotypic communities compared to heterotypic communities with both organisms. We identify a number of genes responsible for enhanced biofilm development as well as metabolic synergy. Overall design: RNA-seq of mono-typic or hetero-typic communities following 3 hours of anaerobic incubation in PBS. The overall experiment was completed as two independent experiments comparing Pg to PgAb and a second experiment analyzing Ab to AbPg
