Study: Next Generation Sequencing Facilitates Quantitative Analysis of Wild Type and IFC (incompletely fused carpels) Maize Ovary Transcriptomes
show Abstracthide Abstract
The goals of this study are to investigate transcriptional networks that are likely to regulate IFC ovaries and to better understand the molecular framework associated with carpel fusion in maize. Overall design: Examination of 2 different transcriptome changes in 2 ovary phenotypes. Expression values obtained for the 25,368 genes expressed in at least one of the 2 sequenced samples.
Sample: IFC rep2

Organism: Zea mays
Library:
Instrument: Illumina HiSeq 2500
Strategy: RNA-Seq
Source: TRANSCRIPTOMIC
Selection: cDNA
Layout: PAIRED
Construction protocol: Retinas were removed, flash frozen on dry ice, and RNA was harvested using Trizol reagent. Illumina TruSeq RNA Sample Prep Kit (Cat#FC-122-1001) was used with 1 ug of total RNA for the construction of sequencing libraries. RNA libraries were prepared for sequencing using standard Illumina protocols.
