To gain insight into the mechanisms by which exercise affects muscle stem cell niche, we subjected young and old mice to aerobic exercise and performed whole transcriptome analysis of muscle cells from these animals. Overall design: Myofibers stripped of attaching mononucleated cells were isolated from exercised or control young (4-month old) and old (22-month old) mice and processed for RNA-seq.
