show Abstracthide AbstractThe aim of this study was to determine the specific microbial composition of the inflamed mucosa in the stomach and duodenum. We hypothesized that if there is a pathogen like Helicobacter pylori, it will induce mucosal inflammation by infiltrating neutrophils and mononuclear cells. Furthermore, if there is a species that plays a protective role against inflammation, it might underrepresent in inflamed mucosa. The ultimate goal of this study was to define the species related to mucosal inflammation at an earlier stage before the long-term, carcinogenesis process.
