Design: Cultures of Streptomyces were grown on 1/10th strength LB agar for DNA extraction using the Qiagen DNA mini kit (Qiagen, MD, USA) according to the manufacturer s guidelines including a lysis step with use of lysozyme. Genomic DNA was prepared for sequencing using the Qiagen FX and sequenced on an Illumina MiSeq platform using a 600 cycle V3 reagent kit.
