show Abstracthide Abstract
Amanita inopinata, or the “Unexpected Guest Lepidella”, is an asymbiotic species currently found in Europe. Its ecology is poorly known, and the mushroom has only been collected from sites where it appears to be introduced. The species' native range remains a mystery. The cap of the mushroom is covered with thick, felty warts, and the appearance of the mushroom is rather distinctive. The sequenced strain was collected fromSuffolk, in the United Kingdom, in October 2008.
